Our 9 Day Morocco Tour Itinerary /If you’re looking for the ultimate Morocco travel experience, our 9 Day Morocco Tour takes you on a magical journey from Casablanca to Marrakech, covering Morocco’s most iconic cities, the Sahara Desert, and hidden gems like the Blue City of Chefchaouen. This carefully designed itinerary blends history, culture, and adventure, making it one of the best Morocco tours for first-time visitors.
Your 9-day Morocco tour begins in Casablanca, Morocco’s modern economic hub. Upon arrival at Mohammed V International Airport, our driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, perched dramatically on the Atlantic Ocean. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed dinner and prepare for your Moroccan adventure.
After breakfast, drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Explore the Royal Palace, the Hassan Tower, and the Kasbah of the Udayas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with Andalusian gardens. Continue north through the scenic Rif Mountains until you arrive in Chefchaouen, famously known as the Blue City. Wander through its cobblestone streets, blue-washed walls, and picturesque plazas. Overnight in a charming riad.
This morning, enjoy more free time in Chefchaouen before heading south toward the Roman ruins of Volubilis, Morocco’s best-preserved archaeological site. Stroll through ancient mosaics, basilicas, and triumphal arches while learning about the Roman Empire’s presence in North Africa. Afterward, drive to Fes, the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco. Check into your riad in the old medina.
Spend the day discovering Fes, one of the world’s oldest medieval cities. With a local guide, walk through the labyrinthine alleys of Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, the University of Al Quaraouiyine (the world’s oldest existing university), the colorful tanneries, and the bustling souks. In the evening, enjoy traditional Moroccan cuisine and live music.
Today, your journey takes you toward the majestic Sahara Desert. Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques. Continue to Midelt for lunch, then follow the scenic Ziz Valley with its palm groves and ksars (fortified villages). By evening, arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels across golden dunes to your luxury desert camp. Watch the magical sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend the night under a star-filled sky.
Wake up early for a breathtaking Sahara sunrise. After breakfast, depart for the dramatic Todra Gorge, a canyon with 300-meter cliffs popular among hikers and rock climbers. Enjoy a walk along the riverbed before continuing to the Dades Valley, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Overnight in a boutique hotel or kasbah overlooking the valley.
Today you’ll travel through the Valley of Roses and Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa.” Visit the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass before arriving in vibrant Marrakech. Overnight in a traditional riad in the medina.
Explore the enchanting “Red City” of Marrakech with a guided city tour. Visit the stunning Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Koutoubia Mosque. Wander through the colorful souks filled with spices, carpets, and handicrafts. End the day at the legendary Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where snake charmers, storytellers, and food stalls create a lively atmosphere. Overnight in Marrakech.

Many travelers wonder: Should I start my Morocco tour from Casablanca or Marrakech? Here’s why Casablanca is the best starting point:
International flights: Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport offers the most flight connections from Europe, North America, and beyond—making it easier and often cheaper to arrive.
Hassan II Mosque: By starting here, you can see one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks before heading inland.
Perfect route flow: Beginning in Casablanca allows a smooth north-to-south journey through Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, and the Sahara Desert, before ending in Marrakech.
Less backtracking: Starting in Casablanca and finishing in Marrakech saves travel time and ensures you see more in just 9 days.
Spring (March–May): Mild temperatures, green valleys, and great for sightseeing.
Autumn (September–November): Comfortable weather, perfect for desert trips and exploring cities.
Winter (December–February): Chilly nights in the desert but fewer crowds and clear skies.
Summer (June–August): Hot in the Sahara and Marrakech, but mountain towns like Ifrane and Chefchaouen stay cooler.
✔ Private transportation with an English-speaking driver
✔ Accommodation in traditional riads and desert luxury camp
✔ Guided tours in Fes and Marrakech
✔ Camel trek in the Sahara Desert
✔ Daily breakfasts and select dinners
✔ Airport transfers from Casablanca and Marrakech
Pack smart: Bring comfortable walking shoes, light clothing for the day, and warmer layers for desert nights.
Stay hydrated: Especially during the desert trek.
Cash & cards: ATMs are available in major cities, but small towns and souks prefer cash (dirhams).
Cultural respect: Dress modestly when visiting mosques and conservative towns.

Every single hotel, drive, restaurant was just incredible. And when we wanted to add or spontaneously change something - Rachid was there to make our wishes happen. Book with him and you'll make a friend for life :)Posted on JulietVerified sahara sunsets My friend and I went on a 9 day trip to Morocco. Rachid created custom itineraries for us based on where in Morocco we wanted to see, duration and travel preferences. When putting together our itinerary, he was flexible and so so communicative. He even met me at the airport himself and accompanied us throughout the entirety of the trip, from settling into a beautiful riad in Marrakesh at the start of the trip, to each of the desert cities (Ait Ben Haddou, N’kob, Merzouga), into the Sahara Desert dunes and stopping by Boumalne Dades as we returned back to Marrakesh together. Accommodations were phenomenal, clean and the ideal blend of modern desert that housed the most beautiful sunsets. Rachid and team (Moustafa, Ibrahim) ensured we were looked after and threw us surprise activities, like cutting honeydew melons riverside in a gorge or putting on drumming shows as a dinner digestif. The most memorable events definitely had to be camel riding through the Sahara Desert Erg Chebbi, sitting by a campfire in a luxury campsite enveloped by an endless sea of stars, stopping by a roadside shop for the best tagine and drinking my weight in moroccan tea. Going into this trip, I thought that it wouldbe this once in a lifetime vacation, but after experiencing the unbelievable hospitality and fun that Rachid Morocco Tours offered, I know it won’t be the last time I’ll visit this beautiful country. Rachid is the only person you’ll ever need for visiting Morocco. He is kind, professional and humble, all made so evident in the many stories shared about his life, family and childhood growing up in the Sahara Desert. You can trust this agency... and the quality/price ratio is really good!We only have one desire: to return to Morocco to discover other regions. Many thanks Rachid!Posted on Happiness20709376632Verified Dromaquad Super nice excursion exceptional setting 1 hour camel + 2 hours quad with mint tea break and small cakes in between unbeatable value for money thank you rachis for all that I highly recommendPosted on Sanne BVerified Great day trip to Imlil and Agafay desert Rachid picked us up right on time for a beautiful day trip to the Imlil valley, where a guide was ready for a walk, ending with a delicious lunch at his home. An absolute must do, after that it was a beautiful road trip to the Agafay desert, where we rode a camel for an hour and then had a sunset dinner. Rachid is a good driver with a good car and gave us a nice impression of life outside Marrakech.Posted on Maria Antoniett...
